On 9 June, the High Court ruled that the Home Office had misunderstood EU law by excluding Zambrano carers from the EU Settlement Scheme. This applies to Zambrano carers who currently have or could have limited leave to remain under another route.

This may be relevant for you if:

– You are not British or European, AND
– You do not already have settled or pre-settled status under the EU Settlement Scheme, AND
– You have a British child under the age of 18, AND
– You are the primary carer of your British child.

People who meet these conditions should consider applying under the EU Settlement Scheme. If you are going to apply, you need to try to submit the application by the 30 June 2021 deadline.
