Join us at the Hackney Legal Walk

Posted on 19th August 2022

Hackney Migrant Centre will join the Hackney Legal Walk on Saturday 1 October. This is a sponsored 10km walk to raise funds for free legal advice agencies in the Hackney area. The walk is under the auspices of the London Legal Support Trust which organises fundraising events across London to promote access to justice.

The first Hackney Legal Walk in 2019 was a great success with over 100 walkers from 11 teams and raised over £10,000 – plus Gift Aid – for local advice agencies. Hackney Migrant Centre had raised over £6,000 which went directly to supporting our services. This is the first time since Covid-19 that we have been able to organise a similar event and we are hoping to raise even more money to keep HMC’s vital services going.

How to get involved:

Walk with us – the walk starts and ends at the Princess of Wales pub in Lea Bridge Road, with registration from 10:00 am. It is a lovely and interesting walk along Hackney’s waterways, through the marshes and into the Olympic Park. To sign up, please contact us.

Fundraise – if you can’t join the walk, please consider donating to support out team. Our page can be found here.
